About Us...
This website will have current information on future plans, past productions, and our "in progress" production, as well.
Paint Valley High School Theatre is a program available to students within Paint Valley Local Schools which allows them to enrich their lives through performing arts. Paint Valley is located in southern Appalachia Ohio, just west of Chillicothe in a beautiful, agricultural setting. The school has approximately 400 students enrolled and offers many activities in which the students can participate, such as Drama. The program began in the 2005-2006 school year and has grown tremendously over the last twelve years involving many, many students and undoubtedly changing countless lives; it began with absolutely nothing, as plays had not been done for over a decade, and has since become a self-sustaining program experiencing great success. The first play was Shakespeare's A Midsummer Night's Dream, and was performed in 2006 - the high school stage had no lighting system and had not been used for performances in years, so the play had to be put on in the middle school; however, after years of growth and the acquisition of stage lights, sound equipment, and the building of sets, what was once a "club" is now the PVHS Theatre program.
The latest production of The Great Gatsby includes a stage crew and cast of over forty students and has three performances scheduled for the first weekend in May. Each year, the number of students involved increases and the plays just keep getting better.
We have come a long way, and our dreams continue to become realities...
